It is a requirement for an executive in today’s marketplace to take control and build a personal leadership brand. If you are thinking about a job change, or in job transition, you need to take ownership of your personal brand.

Personal branding is knowing what your core competencies are and being able to leverage those strengths.  Your personal brand is your “reputation.”  It helps you stand out and differentiate yourself from the competition.  Your personal brand is your story, your voice.  It creates an emotional connection to you.

By taking ownership of your own brand, you are helping to attract the right opportunities so people can see you excel and recognize you for your accomplishments.  It is important to play to your talents, know what you can offer, and then showcase your assets and values.

And remember, stick to what you do best.  It is not in your best interest following a career path that doesn’t reflect your key attributes.  You can’t move up if you don’t stand out!
